Our Story

TIJULE Co. LTD. is an agro-processing company located in the parish of Clarendon, Jamaica. The company utilizes a variety of Jamaican fruits and vegetables such as breadfruit, ackee, callaloo, cassava, guava, pineapple, banana, citrus, passion, ginger, mangoes, tamarind, apples, spices and herbs, which are canned, bottled, baked and frozen so that the fruit of the soil may be enjoyed at leisure by those at home as well as our friends abroad.

Tijule’s raw materials are supplied by farmers mainly based in St. Elizabeth, Manchester, Clarendon, St. Catherine, Portland, St. Thomas and St. Mary.

The company employs twenty five (25) permanent staff (technical and skilled) in addition to, sixty (60) to one hundred and fifty (150) casual workers depending on season and availability of raw materials.

TIJULE Co. LTD. is a member of the Jamaica Agro Processors Association (JAPA), the Jamaica Exporters Association (JEA) and works very closely with the Jamaica Bureau of Standard (BSJ), the Quality Control Monitoring Arm of Jamaica, and JAMPRO, the link between local industries, government and overseas agencies both for funding, technical assistance and markets.

Tijule consist of two brands:

Juliana
Was our first foray into the market, its name combination of mother (Alice) and daughter (Juliette), is a brand steeped in the tradition and determination of rural Jamaica to succeed despite setbacks and hardship. Its’ authentic Jamaican taste is reminiscent of bygone days ‘dutchie pots’ and coal fires, where families and friends gather to partake of the richness that the earth has to offer grown with ones own hands.

Nel’s Old Time
Followed later as a tribute to times past when recipes were passed down word of mouth from generation to generation and the communal pot, ensured that everyone had a hotmeal in their bellies.
